We’re pleased to say that founder of Perform Green, Barney Smith will be speaking at the Digital Healthcare Show 2018. He’ll be there to talk about how Smart Society applies to healthcare, as part of a wider session titled, What next for Integrated Care? Barney’s talk is on 27th June and if you’re at the event, make sure you head along to Digital Theatre 3 at 11.45am.
About the Digital Healthcare Show
The Digital Healthcare Show is Europe’s largest integrated health and social care event. Over the course of two days, the show features 400 expert speakers and 240 educational sessions. It’s a fantastic opportunity for commissioners, providers and suppliers to come together, learn from another and build meaningful relationships.
Smart society and healthcare
Barney is a hugely experienced speaker and will be at the event to share his experience of building a Smart Society through his work with Perform Green. In particular, he’ll be looking at how smart technology can be used to improve healthcare and the lives of people who live with health conditions.
The session itself is around the theme of integrated care and comes with the following summary:
Integrated care is already being pursued through new care models and the evolution of STPs into integrated care systems (ICS). These developments offer the promise of a different way of working with an emphasis on places, populations and systems. As an integral part of this and to address the long-term, embedded challenges facing the social care system including funding, the government has committed to publishing a green paper setting out its proposals for reform on care and support for older people during summer 2018. Our presentations seek to shine a light on what progress has already been made via on-the-ground success stories, associated commentary and lessons learnt.
We know that the UK faces many challenges and that the total cost of health and social care is £220 billion. But as digital technology gets more and more sophisticated, the move to a smarter society can help improve the lives of millions of people.
Barney will be using the opportunity to speak at the Digital Healthcare Show to share some of the great work already taking place. He’ll be talking about the ways in which smart technology is making a difference in the world of healthcare – as well as the lessons learned.
