Hugh Rhodes

Hugh Rhodes brings skills in business start-up, early-stage business finance, business support programmes, intellectual property and innovation.

He has developed growth strategies and raised finance directly for many early-stage businesses and also has experience structuring business support programmes in the public sector.  As Innovation Director at Newcastle Science City, he led the multi-million pound flagship programme – Newcastle Innovation Machine. He has also provided innovation support to technology centres (now known as Catapults). He has a deep understanding of intellectual property from delivering technology transfer services in universities.

Hugh is excited to: work at the business level to develop and implement strategies for growth; design support programmes for business to drive economic development; and to work with clients to achieve better outcomes through innovation. Although not an accountant, he is fluent in financial forecasting and requires plans to be backed up by numbers. He has recently started working in the charity sector.

Hugh has an MSc in Entrepreneurship from the University of Stirling.
