George Cressey


George Cressey is a mechanical engineer and consultant with a focus on Project management, innovation and digital solutions.

Following his graduation from Newcastle University with a Masters in Low Carbon Transport Engineering, George worked as a vehicle development engineer at McLaren Automotive and was responsible for managing durability, certification and software validation programs across a range of models including the flagship hybrid supercar, the McLaren P1.

Following his move into consulting with PwC, George brought his passion for innovation to the firm, supporting the development of an innovation proposition that was successfully delivered within several local authorities. This programme took clients through the ideation process from problem definition through to pilot development, he went on to manage the delivery of several pilots for a council in the South East which successfully trialled machine learning, gamification, speech to text and chatbot technology.

 He also led the design and development of a 5 year digital roadmap for a local authority in the North East, assessing the organisations digital maturity and current ICT estate through extensive stakeholder research before defining the key digital opportunities and setting out a roadmap for their implementation. 

 Outside of work, George is an avid traveller having been fortunate enough to take part in the Mongol Rally in 2011, driving an ambulance 10,000 miles across Europe and Asia!
